A modern take on a traditional home
A modern take a traditional stone home, this home design is made up of carved volumes of linear stone. The building is made up of two wings, framing an outdoor courtyard, and projecting to the front facade.
A generous and powerful entrance is carved into the stone facade, while offering a glimpse into the heart of the home, an inviting procession. This gesture also serves to light and elevate the main staircase, and wine cellar.
The Great Room opens to both the North and South facades, creating a strong connection between the main living space and the pool // outdoor living spaces. This also serves to create generous vistas to forest and field. A large fireplace anchors the vastness of the Great Room, serving as the hearth of the home, while a generous wine cellar playfully peaks out from the basement creating a grandeur to the decent to the basement programing. Kitchen, Dining Room, Living Room, Games Room and Office are all connected to the pool deck, as well as visually to one another in an open concept living scheme that prioritizes family connection, and time outdoors. 12’ high sliding glass door open to create an 18’ wide opening connecting the indoor great room to the outdoor Great Room. Stairs lead down to a sunken garden, where the pool waterfalls into planters, and the courts are found. The modern pool area offers a sculpted pool, outdoor showers, generous space for lounging in the sun, and wonderful exposure to southern light and western sunsets.
